Refund policy
Try before you buy
Every practice test is free in every skill (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking), so you can see exactly how ExamBand works before you pay.
When you can get a full refund
- Within 3 days of buying, if you have used very little of your pass: you have asked for no more than 1 AI feedback.
- At any time during your pass, if a fault on our side stops you from using ExamBand and we cannot fix it within 3 days. If you prefer, we can add the lost days to your pass instead.
When we cannot give a refund
- After 3 days, or once you have used more than the amounts above.
- For days of your pass that you did not use.
- Because of your IELTS result, a change to your exam date, or a band you disagree with. AI bands are estimates, not official IELTS scores.
AI Writing or Speaking feedback bought on its own ($4)
- It is written for you as soon as you pay, so it cannot be refunded once you have received it.
- If it could not be written for you (for example, because of a fault on our side), we refund the $4 in full.
- AI Speaking feedback is written from your recording, which stays in the browser you took the test in. If that recording is no longer there when you pay (for example, you deleted it or cleared your browser), we refund the $4 in full.
How to ask for a refund
Email hello@examband.com from the email address of your ExamBand account, within the time limit, and include your order number. We reply within 2 working days.
Refunds are paid by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller, to the card or PayPal account you paid with, and usually arrive within 10 days. Your pass ends when the refund is made.
Before you contact your bank
Please write to us first: we can usually solve a problem faster. Repeated refund requests, or using a pass and then asking for the money back, may be refused, and the account may be closed.
Your legal rights
This policy does not affect your rights under the consumer law of your country.
Your pass starts as soon as you pay, so any right to cancel an online purchase ends then, as Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms, which you accept at checkout, explain.
How we check a request
To answer refund requests fairly, we look at when you bought your pass and which tests and AI feedback you used, with their dates. We share this with Lemon Squeezy only when it is needed to answer a refund request or a payment dispute.
