About ExamBand
ExamBand gives you free IELTS practice tests that look and work like the real test on computer.
Who made ExamBand?
ExamBand was made by an IELTS teacher with 10 years of experience.
In those years, I saw the same problem again and again. Students practised on paper, or on websites that looked nothing like the real test. On test day, the screen was new to them. They lost time, and they lost marks.
So I built the practice site I wanted for my own students.
— The founder of ExamBand
What do I get?
- 66 free practice tests: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, for Academic and General Training.
- Screens like the real computer test: the same parts, timing and question types.
- Your Listening and Reading band in seconds, with every answer explained.
- AI feedback on Writing and Speaking: your band, your mistakes and how to fix them. It costs $4 for one test, or comes with the Exam Pass.
- A smart dashboard and practice drills for your weak question types, with the Exam Pass.
How are the tests made?
- We follow the IELTS format: the same parts, question types, word limits and timing.
- Bands use the same score tables and public band descriptors that IELTS uses.
- Every Listening test has its own new recordings.
- No question is repeated in any test.
- Every answer is checked before a test goes live.
Is the AI feedback an official score?
No. AI feedback is an estimate to help you practise. It is not an official IELTS score. Only the real test gives you an official band.
Is ExamBand part of IELTS?
No. ExamBand is an independent practice site. We are not part of IELTS, the British Council, IDP or Cambridge. For the official test, visit ielts.org.
